Why did Ray's Golf Carts change its name?
To align ourselves with Club Car we decided as part of our taking on a new partner it was a good time to rebrand ourselves.
Can you sell brand new Club Cars?
Yes as a Authorized Club Car Dealer we have access to brand new carts as well as Club Car Remanufactured carts. We are the only store in SCC that can sell brand new Club Car carts. Beware of other stores selling Club Car Silver/Gold Standard remanufactured carts and saying they are brand new! We have seen this occur a lot. Please be careful to not get ripped off! Is there anything I should know about Golf Car Battery Care?
Newly purchased batteries require a full charge before use.
New batteries need to be cycled several times (20 – 50 cycles, depending on type) before reaching full capacity. Usage should be limited during this period.
Battery connectors should be kept tight at all times. Periodic inspection is recommended.
Vent caps should remain in place and tight at all times during vehicle operation and charging.
Battery should be kept clean from all dirt and corrosion.
Batteries should be watered after charging unless plates are exposed before charging. Plates should be covered by approximately 1/8″ of acid if exposed. Check level after charge. The acid level in the cell cover should be kept 1/4″ below the bottom of the fill well.
Distilled or treated water should be used to replenish batteries. Care should be taken to avoid metallic contamination (iron).
Batteries should not be discharged below 80% of their rated capacity for best battery life. Proper battery charging will help avoid excessive discharge.
As batteries age, their maintenance requirements changes as well. Usually older batteries needed watered more often and require longer charging times. The capacity also is reduced.
Batteries should be brought up to full charge at the earliest opportunity. Avoid operating batteries in a partially charged condition. This will reduce there capacity and shorten their life span.
Avoid charging batteries above 120°F or ambient temperature, whichever is higher.
Periodic testing is an important preventative maintenance procedure. Hydrometer readings of each cell while fully charged gives an indication of balance and true charge level. Imbalance could mean the need for equalizing, and is also sign of possible improper charging or a bad cell. Voltage tests (open circuit, charged and discharged) can locate a bad or weak battery. Load testing will pick out a bad battery when other methods fail. A weak battery will cause premature failure of companion batteries.
Always use a matched voltage charger and battery pack system. An undersized charger will never get the job done no matter how long the battery is charged. An oversized charger will cause excessive gassing and heat which could cause explosions or other damage.

How can I identify the model and year of my Club Car?
Starting in the 1980s Club Car vehicles have a serial number plaque at the lower edge of the dashboard. Our serial number convention is 12 characters and indicates the model, the model year and the production week the vehicle was produced. For example:PQ0604-123456
PQ=Precedent Electric 06=2006 Model Year 04=Fourth production week
NOTE: If you cannot find a serial number plaque contact Club Car with the serial number from the transaxle, electric motor or gas engine. Utilizing that information we can assist you with identifying the serial number of your vehicle.

If work is done at an authorized Club Car dealer you should request your dealer use Club Car Genuine Parts for your vehicle to perform at its best. At Club Car of Sun City we use genuine Club Car parts when we service your car.

If you experience problems with your vehicle take it to our Service Department. We will diagnose the problem, repair the vehicle and, if Club Car covers it, submit the required paperwork to Club Car on your behalf.

What is the warranty on a refurbished vehicle?
The Club Car refurbished product comes standard with a one year limited Club Car warranty. The products under the Remanufactured product line have an optional one year Club Car limited warranty.
Can a used gas powered golf cart be remanufactured?
Club Car does not remanufacture gas powered golf cars. While a gas powered unit can be remanufactured, there are very few available since the vast majority of golf cars purchased or leased are electric. Check with us for availability.
What kind of powertrains are available for the Refurbished vehicles?
All of the models come with our 3.2hp PowerDrive Plus regenerative motor which is a higher torque motor designed for hilly applications.
What colors are available for the Refurbished vehicles?
The standard colors are: White, Beige, Dark Green and Atlantic. Optional colors are: Black, Cayenne, Red, Classic Blue and Camouflage. It is also possible to special order the vehicles in a custom paint. Please contact us for further information.
What options and accessories are available for these vehicles?
The most common options are available and include headlights, taillights, turn signals, private speed mode, canopies, etc. In addition, we offer a wide range of Aftermarket accessories such as all-weather enclosures, covers, hubcaps and gun racks.
How can I tell if a vehicle is a Certified Refurbished vehicle?
All Refurbished vehicles are issued a new serial number plaque that is green in color for Remanufactured models. This plaque can be found at the lower edge of the dashboard and allows a customer to easily identify the vehicle as a Club Car OEM product. In addition this newly issued serial number allows for warranty registration and tracking.
Do the Refurbished vehicles come with canopies?
The golf car will come standard with a new, current style canopy top. Other models can be ordered with an optional canopy.

Do used golf cars or other used vehicles come with a warranty?
No, used vehicles are sold on an as-is basis. However, the products under the remanufactured product line come standard with a one year limited warranty. The products under the Remanufactured product line have an optional one year limited Club Car warranty.
How can I tell if my used golf car is a 36 volt, 48 volt or IQ system?
If the charger plus that inserts into your Club Car is rectangular you have a 36 volt vehicle. If your charger plug is round with 3 prongs it is a 48 volt vehicle. A vehicle with our IQ System will also have a round charger plug, but will have a rocker switch for the Forward and Reverse options.
I need a set of golf car batteries. What kind should I buy?
When looking for a golf car battery first determine if you have a 36 volt or 48 volt vehicle. A 36 volt vehicle has six 6 volt batteries and a 48 volt vehicle has six 8 volt batteries or four 12 volt batteries. These are specialized “Deep Cycle Lead Acid” batteries designed for electric vehicle use. DO NOT attempt to use 12 volt automotive batteries.
What is the value of my used vehicle?
This is a common question but one that is impossible to answer accurately sight unseen. As an automobile value depends on age, cosmetic condition and mechanical condition, as well as any options or accessories on the vehicle, the same is true for golf cars.
